My love for coffee is certainly not a secret. There's this joke that I've heard a few times and it makes me laugh every time- don't get your hopes up. I am not a comedian. "A vegan and a crossfitter walk into a bar, how do you know? Because they tell everyone". Yep, they should add "coffee-lover" to the joke!
Coffee, tea, water... a beverage, and good conversation is always great! I met Laurie, a photog friend in downtown Sanford to take photos, with no real structure or plan in mind. We both were in need of a little pick me up, she said she had see a coffee shop before we met up. So we headed over full speed ahead, and ended up sharing coffee and conversation for a couple hours.
Here's my beautiful friend, Coffee and Laurie. hehe. She's beautiful too. We're at Palate Coffee Brewery, Sanford, Florida. I fell in love with this place. Not only do they have great coffee, but hello the light is great, and the staff was so friendly. Everyone of the customers that came in seemed to love the place too and were greeted like long time friends. The barista told us that everyone of the staff was photogenic, we of course agreed and took some photos of them at work!
Laurie texted me today, she sent an article from the Orlando Sentinel about Palate. I read the entire thing, and immediately contacted Palate, asking to be a volunteer. The owner has had quite a challenging-heart-wrenching journey, now she's dedicated to giving back. Every one of her employees are volunteers. Palate is dedicated to helping to stop human trafficking. I knew there was something special about this place and the people in it. I can't wait to volunteer.
