I am so excited to finally share this wedding on my blog! I met Nataly first on my website, via my chat option. (Such an awesome tool). She and her fiancé Ken were looking for a photographer to capture a "surprise" wedding. In fact, their friends & families (outside of the out of town guests), didn't know they were getting married. This was a first for me.
I met Nataly and Ken at Starbucks (my home/office away from home), we discussed their AMAZING plans, the decor she wanted to have, the cake- everything! I must say, I was so excited for their wedding day, I couldn't believe I had to wait 6+ months to finally capture it.
Nataly & Ken selected the beautiful; The Maitland Art Center at 231 W Packwood Ave., Maitland, FL 32751 (approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Orlando). For those who are not familiar with The Maitland Art Center, it is a wonderful outdoor wedding venue in Maitland, Florida featuring amazing Mayan Revival architecture, designed by artist J. Andre Smith. Side Note: This was on my list when I was planning my wedding a few years ago.
Ken worked so hard to contact their closest friends and family, he told them he was proposing to Nataly (isn't he the sweetest). They hired Dandy Details Events & Design, Rachael to plan the day and Omar was their coordinator the day of.
On the day of the wedding, their friends and family met in the beautiful Main Garden where Ken welcomed them to view his proposal. Here he announced that they were not getting engaged but that they were getting married and he was proposing. I was awaiting all the guests arrival in the Chapel, I could hear the huge cheers!! Nataly's friend, Sara Salavarria of Dainty Blue Photography captured their formal portraits, and the surprise (can't wait to see them). I came in to capture the ceremony and celebrations Sara could join the party and celebrate too!
As guests exited the Main Garden and headed to the Chapel, it was amazing to see their excited, surprised, happy, and joyous smiles! Their friends were not getting engaged, they were getting MARRIED!
The ceremony took place as the sun was setting. It was just perfect.
They did it!
The reception was taking place in the Mayan Courtyard, right next to the Chapel. It was gorgeous and exactly as Nataly described. I think that it was the first thing I told her when I saw her! From there on they celebrated the night with a delicious dinner, toasts, cake cutting and dancing!
